Love hurts and sins
Just like needles and pins.
I’m a loser, and she always wins.
But now, I realize
She regrets her grand prize,
And the birds in the sky softly sigh.
I’ve seen her cry,
Looking like she might die
If I didn’t walk over and say “hi”.
But, it’s too late;
She has closed and locked the gate.
She’s a caged bird, resigned to her fate.
What can I say?
The pain gets in the way
In the nighttime and into the day.
The willows weep their seas of leaves.
Rose petals fade and fall; the blossoms grieve,
And the grey clouds unleash the storms that they weave.
Now, I must go,
But my heart still says “no”
As the tumbling rain starts to grow.
I feel alone
As my mind starts to roam.
After a while, I finally walked home.
